NEW VILLAGE HALL FINANCES
An open letter to all concerned:
Following your excellent response to the latest ‘Updated Statement’ on the New Village Hall, with your gifts of cash, offers of covenants and of help at future fundraising events, the Committee ask that you accept this letter as sincere thanks and appreciation of your support.
We would like to write to you individually but many of you have asked that your action remain confidential and some are anonymous, so to attempt to write and respect your wishes is difficult, hence this letter.
However, several of you have asked for further details of Covenants and Gift Aid, both of which are tax beneficial methods of giving. I now have full details and forms relative to both methods. If I have not already been in touch with you would you please contact me on 240353.
On behalf of your New Village Hall Committee,
PeterAshley, Treasurer

SEAVINGTON NEW VILLAGE HALL FUND
Sponsored Cycle Ride
This much enjoyed cycle ride raised nearly £500 for hall funds. The weather on Sunday 17th August was perfect for a cycle ride, bright and sunny. Approximately 20 people set off from the Pavilion at 10.OOam for the 12 mile circular route. James Hawkins and Jamie Carpenter completed it in a rapid 45 minutes. The rest of us took a little longer returning to the Pavilion within 11/2 - 2 hours. John Male was unfortunate to have a puncture but managed to complete the route. At the finish we enjoyed the refreshments prepared by May Harrison and Christine Gilbert. Prizes of Cycle ‘D’ Locks for the highest amount of sponsorship raised by an adult and child were presented by Bob Ash.
The Ralph Colman Prize went to Andrew Whitefield and The Bicycle Chain Prize to Carol Ashley.
