OBITUARIES
Caroline Mabel OGDEN died peacefully on 6th April, aged 102. She came to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Don Meetens, at Thatchway House, West Street, in January 1987 and remained with them until July 1991, since when she had been cared for at Beauchamp House Nursing Home. The funeral will be held at Collingtree in her native Northamptonshire.
We were sorry to hear of the death at Chard and District Hospital recently of Olive (Cis) MATTHEWS aged 81 years. Her funeral took place at Yeovil Crematorium on April the 4th. Olive was born in Seavington and lived there all her life until moving to Vaughan Lee House 4 years ago. She still kept in touch with village affairs, was a keen reader of the newsletter and recently donated a seat to the Playing Field in memory of her late husband, George (Knocker) Matthews.s. Maud was born at Shepton Beauchamp and moved to Seavington after her marriage to Percy, they far at Castle Farm, Seavington St Michael. She returned to live at Shepton Beauchamp after the death of her Husband and has latterly been living with Daughter at South Petherton. Her funeral was held at Yeovil Crematorium.
