HUBERT DOBLE
Hubert Mark Doble died on 23rd January at the age of 87. Hubert farmed at Hurcott Farm, Seavington for 30 years until his retirement when his son Hugh took over the Farm. He moved to Ilminster in 1966. His funeral took place at Yeovil Crematorium on January 29th and it was conducted by Rev Clive Moore.
ALICE ROWSWELL
Alice Rowswell died on January 28th at Sunnymeade, Chard at the age of 84 years born in Merriot she moved to Lopen after her marriage in 1933 to Sidney Rowswell. They came to live at Seavington in 1935 and farmed at Water Street Farm, (now The Pheasant) for a number of years. Her husband died in 1983 just after they had celebrated their Golden Wedding.
Her Funeral service took place at Taunton Crematorium conducted by Rev Steven Caddy.
ARTHUR HAWKER
Arthur Leonard Hawker died at Musgrove Park Hospital on 28th January. Aged 83 years. Arthur lived at Dinnington most of life, where he worked on the land.
He had lived at St Mary’s Close, Seavington for nearly 2 years with his niece Sybil. His funeral service was held at St Nicholas Church, Dinnington on February 3rd and was conducted by Rev John King.
Sybil would like to thank everyone who sent messages of sympathy, gave flora tributes and attended the funeral service.
