OBITUARIES
We were very sorry to hear of the recent deaths of Jeffery Bonning and Edward Baker.
Jeffery Bonning was born in Seavington and lived there all his life, farming at Court Farm for over 50 years. A member of the Methodist Church. He was a keen supporter of Yeovil Town Football Club and in his younger days played football for Seavington.
The funeral service took place at St Michael’s Church on December 15th and donations received for the Kidney Research Fund in his memory amounted to £142.50
Lily and family would like to express their grateful thanks to all who attended his funeral service, also for the kind messages of sympathy and generous donations.
Edward (Ed) Baker was born at South Petherton, he moved to Seavington after his marriage to Mary Clarke. He lived at Heathstone for many years before moving to 5 Rowdells Orchard, Seavington St Mary. His wife died in 1981. A member of a.large family one of his brothers, Ern, lives at St Marys Close.
He worked for, many years up to his retirement for Mr Fred Hutchings a Haulage Contractor and Scrap Merchant at Hunts House Seavington.
The funeral service took place at Yeovil Crematorium on January 3rd. Donations given in his memory for South Petherton Hospital amounted to £102.00.
His family would like to thanks everyone for their kindness, messages of sympathy and donations.
